Job Title: Finance Manager

Job Purpose:
To maintain corporate finance policies, procedures and systems and facilitate their consistent implementation across the Group. To act as the focal point for overall budget consolidation and financial accounts. To recommend new approaches for development of the Finance function and staff competencies at Division level.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Review, monitor and update Finance policies, procedures and controls, seek feedback and recommendations from Division based Finance Managers and aim towards enhancing policies and procedures to suit the organisation’s changing requirements.
2. Ensure timely consolidation of division budget, forecasts and regular accounting statements. Prepare periodic MIS reports and data and ensure these are accurate and submitted on time.
3. Participate in the process of Treasury management, ensuring there is adequate foreign currency cover for the organisation.
4. Contribute to the process of negotiation of contracts to achieve favourable terms and conditions.
5. Negotiate favourable terms for division’s insurance requirements, coordinate the insurance procedures and claims process and ensure centralised communication with insurance agents.
6. Act as central coordinating point for smooth implementation of internal and external audit requirements.
7. Assess training and development needs for Finance staff (especially at Division level) and develop suitable training modules/programmes and career development initiatives in conjunction with HR Training function, to enable employees to enhance required competencies.
8. Ensure effective implementation of the computerised Finance system in the Corporate Finance function and utilise the system to its maximum potential to generate quality reports, data and decision-inputs.
9. Remain abreast with new trends and developments in Finance and Accounting, seek and implement new ideas and methods to enhance the contribution of the Finance function to the business.
10. Guide, direct, coach and develop subordinates to work to their best potential and display effective performance on the job.
